P90X System

What is the P90X Intensive Lifestyle Program all About?

The P90X workout is from Beach Body.  The instructor is Tony Horton.  He’s 40 years old, much ripped, and very funny.  Even in the first week of the program, you will move your body in more ways that you ever thought possible.  The P90X workout videos are intense but enjoyable.

P90X System

The P90X Workout is a home fitness and nutrition system.  It took more than a year to develop by leading fitness experts in the field.  No angle was overlooked as the P90X system combines exercise videos with a nutritional plan.  Fast food is out.  Eating right is in.

The P90X videos are very long.  You may not be able to complete a whole workout the first few times if you are not already in good shape.

The Lean Phase workout, for instance, has three cardio routines, two strength workouts, and a yoga session.  You won’t just run or dance.  You’ll also incorporate techniques such as kickboxing and pylometrics.

The P90X workout plan is designed for both men and women.

The system is flexible.  It allows you to progress through the 90 Days at your own pace, but you should be prepared to work hard. There are 12 extreme, heavy-hitting, muscle-pumping, sweat-pounding workouts.  P90X is simply the most comprehensive home workout system available on the market today. From intense weight training and advanced Plyometrics to Core Synergistics and Extreme Yoga, you are sure to see results if you stick to the plan.

The P90X workout is so effective because it uses the training science of Muscle Confusion. As your body changes over the 90 day period, so do the workouts. New moves and routines are constantly introduced so every stage of P90X becomes as effective as the first.

In addition to the exercise program, the PX 90 Workout has a Nutritional component.  The P90X Nutrition Guide was developed by nutritionist Carrie Wyatt. The eating plan compliments the exercise program. It takes guess work out of knowing what to eat and when.  You will also be eating very healthy.

If you are to sure what carbs or fats are good for you or what snacks, dairy products and even what condiments you should be eating it’s no problem. The P90X Nutrition Guide gives you a list of recommended foods, and also outlines daily meals and recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. This is not a starvation diet either.

When you first start the program you may even have a hard time eating everything on your plate.  But the idea is that you want to have the energy (through food calories) to complete the intensive PX 90 workouts.

You need to be moderately fit to be able to benefit from this program.  If you are 250 pounds and haven’t exercised in 6 years, this is not the thing to jump right into.  You need to lose some weight and work up to a place where you can handle an intensive workout program.

However, if you are active and fit, but want to take your body to the next level, consider the P90X workout.

Routines to Lose 10 Pounds

Some Routines to Lose 10 Pounds.

Eventually, almost everyone is going to be inclined to try and lose some weight. Losing weight will not only make you feel and look better, but it will increase your self esteem and confidence. A good initial target for most people is to lose 10 pounds. By creating a routine of activity and diet, most people will be able to lose 10 pounds with little trouble.

As anyone who has tried it knows, one of the hardest things about a weight loss regimen is just that: the regimen. The reasons most diets and exercise routines fail is simply because they are difficult to stick to. One of the best things you can do to avoid this pitfall is to come up with a realistic plan before you attempt to lose 10 pounds, and to incorporate that plan into your daily routine.

It’s important that you do your own research to come up with a plan that works for you, but as an example let’s consider the following: let’s say to lose 10 pounds your plan calls for 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week, and to cook 3 new and healthy meals a week.

None of these things should be particularly cumbersome, but if you fail to plan and organize them into your routine it will be easy for them to fall by the wayside.

Let’s start with the exercise. If you want to exercise 30 minutes a day, when are you going to do it? Don’t just say to yourself “whenever I can squeeze it in” as that is a guarantee that it will get squeezed out.

Depending on your job and family responsibilities, it’s going to be best for you to either exercise before work, at work, or after work. Exercising before or after work could entail using a stationary bike while watching TV!

While exercise at work could be taking a brisk walk during your lunch hour! Whatever choice you make, make sure you stick to it. In order to lose 10 pounds you have to think of this exercise as part of your daily routine, as regular as anything else you do throughout an average day. If you don’t do this, the exercise will become an “extra” thing you do, and will be the first thing dropped from your agenda when you get busy.

Now let’s look at the diet in this example. You’re going to lose 10 pounds by making 3 new meals a week. Again, this has to be planned and part of your routine.

Decide what days you’re going to cook them, decide what (earlier) days you’re going to plan them and shop for them. If you fail to do this you’ll find that you simply don’t have the time for 3 new meals a week. And the problem, of course, is that most of us really don’t “have time” for anything, so unless we make the time, it’s not going to happen.

To lose 10 pounds is not as difficult as many people may think, and be careful to not get completely wrapped up in the ideas of diet and exercise. While these things are the fundamental tools to losing weight, they won’t work if not properly incorporated into your daily routine.

How Can I Stretch

author Posted by: admin on date Sep 21st, 2009 | filed Filed under: Exercise

When you understand what stretching is you can see why it is so important in any program.

Stretching is often a necessary exercise to perform and is especially important when it comes to physical fitness.  Those that do not get in enough stretching are likely to find themselves facing the risk of injury as well as the loss of range of motion.  The goal of stretching is quite simple.

By providing a stretch to the muscle, the range of motion of the joint will be increased to some degree.  To do this, individuals will apply tension and force to the muscle area in order to lengthen the muscle.  The muscle is also strengthened during this time.  The muscles are more capable of providing for the activity that is required.

When it’s Necessary

It is not always necessary to stretch.  In fact, many individuals will tell you that they simple don’t do it and they don’t find themselves injured.  But, most athletes and doctors will recommend some type of stretching any time that you will be doing physically demanding exercises.

For instance, those conditions in which your body needs to be extended and flexible may be the ideal times when you will apply stretching techniques to them.

For example, during long running, acrobatics, martial arts and even for ballet, the body needs to be able to increase its range of motion to do more than what is normally does.  Without this stretching the body is quite limited to what is can accomplish.

To Keep From Getting Hurt

Another reason that stretching is used is to increase the body’s ability to keep from becoming injured.  Stretching can prevent injury to various aspects of your body including ligaments, tendons and muscles fibers.

This is the case because stretching helps to make the muscles more elastic.  As it becomes more elastic, it reduces the stretch reflex in the greater ranges of motion that you will use it that may otherwise cause an injury to happen to you.

Stretching is something that should be done because it can help you to perform to a fuller degree as well as to help you to prevent injury.  If you don’t stretch enough, you may not be able to perform as well with the type of activities that you are looking for.  Stretching in the right manner is almost a requirement for safety, too.
